Norman Road challenges L’Europe
Now that Christmas is done and dusted Norman Road is awake and trading again. And to show our International Cred, our commitment to BritShop and all sorts of other stuff we have a picture of a ‘geezer in a beret‘ but wearing seasonal sprouts, none of those foreign onion things.

Norman Road. Leading into the Next Decade of Shopping fun. For You!
Yay!
One!
Welcome to One, 1 London Road*, our newest Nearly Norman, who has an array of wonderful food to take away, an array of wonderful art to see while you stay, and whose lovely, bright, colourful premises have brought a ray of sunshine to Norman’s early autumn.

*Very Wellingtonian, who, after retirement, lived at Number 1, London.
A change. No expenses were claimed in this change.
Please be patient! We’ve moved from Wordpress.com to Wordpress.org. Doesn’t sound like much huh? But to some of us it is a step on the road to being the sine qua non of South Coast blog sites, and is really exciting, ya know.
Soon all the info will be back, the Normans, the Nearly Norms, Friends of Norm, Arty Norms, Hearty Norms, they’ll all be back; dancin’ yay Dancin’ in the streets.
Plenty hello! (& gossip)
Hello to Plenty, our new Nearly Norman provisioner of all things good in the grocery. Found on the sea front, next door to Kassa, along from Smiths, this is a great stopping place after you’ve shopped-till-you-need-a-breath-of-sea-air.
See side bar for link.
And those rumours: well, well, well. A wallpaper designer is moving on in, which is not only niche, but eclectic, and pretty damned cool too.

The wallpaper was top tomato to Admiral Benbow
And The Admiral Benbow, which used to be a pub of questionable delights, is being done up as a showroom and residence of another designer.
(The ‘Admiral Benbow’ is the name of the pub in Treasure Island, a book by Robert Louis Stevenson, based on St Leonards and Norman Road. Allegedly.)
More as it comes! Remember: you heard it here first so it’s bound to be wrong.
Oh! Hello Observer readers. Norman Road would salute you, but Observer readers might think that a bit odd, so just Hi!
Boy is it Good!
Norman Road is featured in The Hastings Handbook, (quite rightly known as the very best guide on the South Coast), and within days, new visitors are discovering Norman Road delights.
Power of the Press!
