More excellence: Notable Sussex Women.

Helena Wojtczak, the force of nature behind Hastings Press, has won a Society of Authors award for her book, “Notable Sussex Women”. This is Helena’s third writing/publishing award, which by any standards, anywhere, is pretty damned cool.

Boris Ho!

From the most popular Home Brewing shop in East Sussex, nay, in the whole of Southern England, Norman Roads BUNG HO, come s a delightful tale of thrift, of recycling and perhaps of good old fashioned Englishness.

It seems that a certain Boris Johnson, a weighty panjandrum of further north, a mayor of some urban blight or other, received from his brother, 20 years ago, a Home Brew Beer kit.
Not knowing of the delights therein, he gave it back to his brother for his brother’s birthday. And got it back for his. And this kit has passed to and fro, from brother to brother for 20 years.

Obviously , and natch, this kit could not have been from BUNG HO, as it would have been put to it’s intended ambrosiacal use in the very first year, given the quality of the BUNG HO merchandise.

Norman Road is changing and refining eclectically, and we are going to welcome some Norman Neighbours: people who are nearby but don't fit in any category known to Norman. Artists, Book publishers and karmic creatives will all be here.
The Bloomsbury of the south coast, thats what we are now. Allegedly.

Friends of Norm
Friends of Norman, (FONs), are too numerous to be left alone any more. Artists, musicians, shop owners, ...anyone with a connection and a Norman friend can be found here, enriching the Norman Experience far, far beyond the bounds of 1066. And all that.
Fun FONs here
